It's  that time of year again and 14th annual El Mirage Spring cleanup

 is quickly approaching. We have had some really good turnouts over the

 years and this year should be even better. This is a "Family Fun Day" and we

 encourage you to help us spread the word by telling your 

friends and brother OHV'rs.

EVENT INFO:

Cleanup Date:     Saturday – May 4th, 2013

Location:     El Mirage OHV Area (Take I-15 North to Hwy. 395 to Rancho Rd. in Adelanto.  Turn left on Rancho Rd.  At stop sign turn right on Koala Rd. Take Koala to El Mirage Rd.  Turn left and go 5 miles to Mountain View Rd. Turn right to the El Mirage OHV Area)

Staging Area:     At the El Mirage Visitor Center 20471 Mt. View Rd., El Mirage, CA  92301

Registration Time:    A full breakfast will be served at 7:00 a.m. ($3.00 donation).   Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.

Duration:     Work projects begin at 8:00 a.m. through noon

BBQ:     At 12:30 p.m.  we will be serving hot dogs & hamburgers at the visitor center (donations accepted). Raffle drawings and 50/50 drawing will begin at 1:00 p.m.


CLEANUP GOALS

ACCESS ROAD - We will be picking up all trash along the 5 mile road up to restroom 10 and branching out into the desert about 100 yards on either side of the road. Picking up drink bottles and cans, trash, food wrappers and so on...hitting restrooms 6 & 7 HEAVY.

CAMP SITES - We will be using a magnet to retrieve nails and metal around fire pits. Using rakes to pick up broken glass. (Note: please don't enter occupied camp sites and beware of hot coals)

LAKEBED – We will be removing campfire rings from the lakebed and picking up litter along the way.

JOSHUA TREE FENCE REPAIR – We will be cleaning out the adopted Joshua Tree areas and repairing their perimeter fences.

At the event everyone must sign a waiver. All minors must be accompanied by an adult and a waiver.

We suggest that everyone wears high boots, gloves, long sleeve shirts & eye protection.

Always work in pairs of two or more, never alone.
